Fracking Interest Group to organize

The Southeast Ohio Fracking Interest Group will hold an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the group’s plans for 2013. Anyone interested in working to educate Washington County citizens about oil and gas drilling and injection wells is welcome to attend. The meeting will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 232 Third St., Marietta.

to meet Monday

The Washington State Community College Board of Trustees will meet at 4 p.m. Monday for its monthly meeting in the Center for Business & Technology Room 103/105 on the college campus.

‘Courageous’ to be shown in Lowell

The movie “Courageous” will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Evangelical Church, 312 Fourth St., Lowell. The movie is free and open to the public.

Night of songs, food at Cutler Center

Jim Blair and Friends will hold a sing at the Cutler Community Center from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 2. There will be homemade soups, desserts, sandwiches and drinks available at the canteen. The third Sunday sings are scheduled to being again in March.

The Angels Among Us Relay For Life team is selling 12-inch, heart-shaped cookies for $12. Options are chocolate chip or sugar cookies and with messages of “Be Mine,” “Happy Valentine’s Day,” or no message. Harmar Hill Crime Watch meets

The Harmar Hill Neighborhood Crime Watch will meet 7 p.m. Feb. 4 at Lookout Park. Jeff Lauer, director of the Washington County Emergency Management Agency will present the program.
