Lindsay Renee Goudy and John William Downs were united in marriage Feb. 11, 2012, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna, W.Va. Pastor Todd Naille of Granville, Ohio officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Leslie Goudy of Vienna. She is the granddaughter of Les and Dorothy Rothwell and the late Carl Goudy and the late Mary Catherine Lane. She is a 2006 graduate of Parkersburg High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Denison University.
The bridegroom is the son of Mark and Kathleen Downs of Hamilton, Ohio. He is the grandson of the late John and Evelyn Boggs and the late William and Betty Downs. He is a 2006 graduate of Hamilton High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Denison University.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a strapless satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and a hand tied bouquet of white calla lilies with ballerina wrapped stems with her great-grandmother’s handkerchief.
The maid of honor was Whitney Goudy of Vienna, sister of the bride, and the matron of honor was Elizabeth Adams of Granville, Ohio. Bridesmaids were Andrea Amos of Parkersburg, Val Smith of Holland, Mich., Maggie Northrup of Vienna, Aleks Panovska of Columbus, and Danielle Dipiero of Charleston, W.Va. The bridesmaids wore royal blue tea length taffeta dresses with a bubble hem and carried bouquets of mango calla lilies. The flower girl was Hannah Hutto.
The best men were Sam Downs of Hamilton, Ohio, brother of the bridegroom, and Tony Adams of Granville. Groomsmen were Adam Goudy of Vienna, W.Va., brother of the bride, Robert Yeager of Granville, Ohio, Chris Perry of Columbus, Christian Goans of Cincinnati, and Jon Ross of Seattle, Wash. Ushers were Ted Nelson of Granville, John Fixari of Granville, Austin Biggs of Morgantown, W.Va., Michael Hardman of Parkersburg, Casey Reinardt of Columbus, and Kyle Reinardt of Columbus. The ring bearer was Ben Morgan, nephew of the bridegroom.
Guests were registered by Erika Johnson of Granville and Korie Coffel of Columbus, and programs by Jesse Yeager of Granville and Lauren Brown of Fairfield. The gift of scripture was provided by Suzy Welter of New Albany. Music was performed by guitarist and vocalist, Ryan Wilkins of Columbus, and cellist, Jon Ross of Seattle, Wash.
A dinner and dance reception was held at the Parkersburg Country Club. After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple resides in Ohio.
