Reno VFD will have appreciation dinner

The Reno Volunteer Fire Department annual appreciation dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Marietta Township Recreation Center. Anyone who has contributed or helped out the fire department in any way during the last year is invited. Those attending should RSVP to Jeremy Patterson at 525-2528.

Benefit will be at Marietta High School

The Winter Serenade Benefit will be held at 3 p.m. Feb. 17 in the Marietta High School auditorium. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at Peoples News in Marietta and Parkersburg, ReSTORE Marietta, The Right Path for Washington County and the O’Neill Center. All proceeds will benefit the Right Path, ReSTORE Marietta, the Colony Theatre and the O’Neill Center. Performers will include Melissa Corcoran, Jennifer Simmons, John Walsh and John Anthony Walsh.

Genealogy program will be held Feb. 16

The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 16 in the Washington County Public Library basement meeting room, 615 Fifth St., Marietta. The speaker will be Shirley A. Harmon and her topic will be “The Importance of Family Histories and Compiling the Barnhouse Genealogy.” Visitors are always welcome.

Elections board will hold monthly meeting

The Washington County Board of Elections will be holding its regular monthly meeting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the board conference room.

St. Pat’s program for children at library

The Marietta location of the Washington County Public Library will offer a St. Patrick’s Day Youth Arts & Crafts for those ages 7 to 12 on March 2. The class will start at 1:30 p.m. Registration is required and limited to 20. To register, stop by the Youth Services Department or call 373-1057, Ext. 219.

Free meal, clothing at Marietta church

A free meal and clothing giveaway will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 16 at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 Seventh St., Marietta.
