Robert A. (Bob) Brunyate

Robert A. (Bob) Brunyate, 61, of Edgewood, Ky., passed away on Wednesday (Feb. 6, 2013) following complications from cancer surgery.

He was born in Somerville, N.J. on Oct. 26, 1951, to Dottie and Bill Brunyate and lived in Middlesex, N.J. until moving with his family to Marietta in 1966. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1969 and Kent State University in 1974 with a degree in Business. For over 26 years, he worked at Marsh-McClellan in Cincinnati, Ohio as a Vice-President. He enjoyed playing golf, studying the history of the Civil War and visiting theme parks to ride roller coasters with his boys.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin and his fiance, Candy Hale, of Akron, Ohio and Steven of Edgewood, Ky. Also surviving are his mother, Dorothy Brunyate of Marietta; brother, Fred of Haslett, Mich.; and sisters, Peggy Peplin (John) of Marietta, and Ginny Werner (Greg) of Spearville, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his father in January 2006.

According to his wishes, he was cremated. A Memorial Service celebrating Bob’s life will be held at Spring Grove/Gwen Mooney Funeral Home in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday (Feb. 23) at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow at the facility.

A service will also be held at Putnam Congregational Church on Sunday (Feb. 24) at 1 p.m. with interment following at Putnam Cemetery in Devola.
