‘Right Path’ planning busy month of activities
The Right Path has a full slate of community events to engage our youth and provide opportunities for family time.
On Sunday, Feb. 17, we are happy to be a benefactor of the Winter Serenade Concert at Marietta High School auditorium, 3 p.m. Sponsored by The Anchor, the proceeds will benefit The Right Path, ReSTORE Marietta, Colony Theatre and the O’Neill Center. The very talented performers include Melissa Corcoran, Jennifer Simmons, John Walsh and John Anthony Walsh. Any of the benefit organizations have tickets available or I will be happy to deliver them to you. Tickets are $15/person, or for $50 you will receive two tickets and have your name and/or business listed in the playbill. You will be in for a treat! John Anthony Walsh will preview the “Fields of Gettysburg” a Civil War music masterpiece. All you history buffs will not want to miss this event! Visit the “Fields of Gettysburg” facebook page and see what the excitement is all about.
March 2, is our 3rd annual Righditarod, The Right Path’s own “race against hunger.” Thanks to Memorial Health Systems, youth teams will have their registration paid. Where else can you pick a theme, don a costume, decorate a shopping cart to reflect it and race through the streets of Marietta on a wild scavenger/wish list food drive to benefit 11 food pantries and the Harvest of Hope and get away with it? Get your team of five together and check out the Right Path’s facebook page for a registration packet. You won’t believe the challenges we have in store for our teams this year, all in the name of fun for a serious cause.
On Sunday March 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., The Right Path will host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner at Spagna’s. Although it is St. Patrick’s Day, there will be no green spaghetti, but a fine dining experience and a beautiful green salad. You will be waited on by The Right Path for Washington County’s board of directors, so make us work! Tickets are $10/person and available by calling (740) 374-6990.
Our 3rd annual fish fry/fundraiser will be held Friday, May 17, VFW Post 5108. The tastiest fish, all-you-can-eat, $10/person. A silent auction will be available. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with a live radio remote and live music with Bruce Haas and Mike Starkey of Titus Canbe fame.
The Right Path strives for healthy youth development through a variety of activities such as martial arts, teen dances, family swim parties, drug and alcohol education, health fairs, parent groups and any place you ask us to be!
