Lutheran church meeting in Caldwell

The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod is hosting a meeting to identify interest in starting a mission church in the Caldwell area at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Social Services building, 810 Main St., Caldwell. Refreshments will be provided.

A fish fry will be held starting at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Bethel Community Center on Ohio 260 in Marr.

Flood risk info

session on Feb. 27

A Flood Risk Information Open House will be held for Washington County residents from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 27 in Room 103-105 of Washington State Community College’s Center for Business and Technology. Those attending will have the chance to locate their homes on the new flood insurance rate maps and get information on flood insurance coverage offered through the National Flood Insurance Program. Representatives from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be on hand. People can drop in at any point in the three-hour period.

Newport financial report completed

The 2013 annual financial report for Newport Township has been completed and filed with the auditor of state office. A copy is available for review at the home of the township clerk at 30875 State Route 7, Marietta, by calling 374-2787 for an appointment.

Friends of the NRA banquet Feb. 28

The Mid-Ohio Valley Friends of the National Rifle Association Committee will host the sixth annual Friends of NRA banquet at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Holy Smoke Event Center in Whipple. The event is open to those who aren’t members of the NRA. Fifty percent of proceeds will be earmarked for Ohio projects including youth programs, shooting range development, firearm safety and hunter education. The event will include raffles, games and silent and live auctions. A $40 dinner ticket includes a steak dinner and door prize drawing. A $125 raffle package tickets includes dinner, a door prize drawing and 40 raffle tickets.
