Fish fry Friday at Salem fire station

The Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the station on Ohio 821. The menu will include french fries, green beans, applesauce, bread/butter, hot dogs, desserts and beverages. The cost is a donation.

Frontier FFA

selling strawberries

The Frontier FFA is selling strawberries for $20 per flat and $11 per half flat. A flat consists of 12 pints. The sale will end on Friday. Strawberries will be delivered the week of March 18. Anyone may order strawberries from Frontier FFA members or call 865-3441, Ext. 2163.

Post 64 to serve shrimp, beer dinner

American Legion Post 64, Eighth and Wooster streets in Marietta, will hold a shrimp and beer dinner from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. The cost is $10 per person. There will also be a round and square dance from 7 to 10 p.m. with 4 Hits and a Miss. The cost it $4 per person. The events are open to the public.

Relay For Life fundraiser luncheon

The Stewart Family Relay For Life team will hold a fundraiser soup luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Beverly United Methodist Church. There will be all types of soups, sandwiches and desserts available. Donations will be accepted.

YMCA offers

instructor training

The Marietta Family YMCA is offering two instructor trainings in March, for personal trainers and group exercise instructors, along with the prerequisite course. Healthy Lifestyle Principles (prerequisite course) will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 Friday. Foundations of YMCA Strength & Conditioning will be offered from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with an hour lunch break. Foundations of Group Exercise (Instructor Level) will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 16, with an hour lunch break. Healthy Lifestyle Principles and current CPR certification are required for both of the other trainings.
