Lunch Sunday at Carroll Senior Center

The Carroll Senior Center will hold a soup/sandwich luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the center on Broadway Avenue in New Matamoras. There will be homemade chili, vegetables, potatoes, cream of broccoli soup, sausage sandwiches, cake and pie. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Carry-out meals are available.

GOP Women’s Club luncheon Monday

The Washington County Republican Women’s Club will hold its monthly luncheon/meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Marietta. The speaker will be Matt Henderson, communications director for the Ohio GOP. He will be speaking about issues concerning Agenda 21, and impacts of implementation on local levels. All interested women and men are welcome to attend.

Cancer Blasters to serve concessions

The Belpre Cancer Blasters will be serving concessions at the Old Town Emporium in Belpre beginning at 5:30 p.m. today. All proceeds will go toward Washington County Relay For Life.

Sanitary sewer repairs on Va. St.

Marietta’s waste water department will be making repairs to the sanitary sewer in the 500 block of Virginia Street today. There will be no parking on either side of the street to allow for the closure of the eastbound lane. East and westbound traffic will be maintained. Repairs are expected to be completed by Wednesday but partial closure may extend into Thursday.

WSCC reps to visit library branches

Throughout March, representatives from Washington State Community College will visit the branches of the Washington County Public Library to provide information about the college. Visits will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Beverly library; Thursday at the Barlow library; March 12 at the New Matamoras library, March 18 at the Belpre library; and March 21 at the Marietta library.
