spring carnival

The Salem-Liberty Elementary School PTO will hold a spring carnival from 4 to 7 p.m. April 6. Dinner will be served by the fifth grade class and there will be an auction of items made by each homeroom.

Basket, pottery bingo at Cutler

Bingo featuring Longaberger baskets and pottery will be held Saturday at the Cutler Community Center to benefit the Western Washington County Senior Citizens. Doors open at 11 a.m. and bingo begins at noon. Lunch will be served and there will be an early-bird drawing, country store, 50/50 and 20 games for $20.

Easter bake Sale

at Beverly-Center

An Easter bake sale will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Beverly-Center Elementary School. There will be cookies, cupcakes, breads, cake pops and lots of other candies and baked goods. All proceeds will benefit the Relay for Life Team Jillybug.


Families program

Family & Children First is sponsoring a spring session of the Strengthening Families 10-14 Program. The program, for parents and youth ages 10 to 14, is a parent, youth, and family skills-building curriculum designed to build family strengths; strengthen parenting skills; and prevent teen substance abuse and other behavior problems. The seven-week session is free, with dinner and child care provided, along with transportation assistance. The spring session will be held Tuesdays, from April 2 through May 14, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Ely Chapman Center in Marietta.

Bus trip May 24-25 to see ‘Noah’

The Marietta First Church of the Nazarene is planning a trip to Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa. May 24-25. The group will be taking the bus trip to see “Noah” at the theater and a few seats are still available.
