The USSSA will be holding an umpire’s meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lookout Park. The mandatory meeting will discuss rate of pay.

Marietta Oldtimers Softball League
Anyone interested in playing softball in the Marietta Mens Oldtimers Softball League needs to send a check or money order in the amount of $55. Also send name, age, phone number and position played to Marietta Oldtimers League P.O. Box 4044 Marietta Ohio 45750.To be eligible to play you have to be 35 years old on or before December 31st 2013. League will be 21 games plus an end of year double elimination tournament. Deadline is May 1, 2013 with draft on May 3, 2013.

Spring tennis league in Marietta
The Marietta Area Community Tennis Association (MACTA) is looking for Parkersburg/Marietta area adult tennis players to participate in round-robin doubles this spring. If you do not have a partner we can match you with one. The round-robin play is a flex format where opponents arrange a day and time to play that suits your schedule. Play is best two of three sets. Good fun, good competition.

Spring Forward 5K April 6
Spring Forward 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 6th at 9AM. The race will begin and end at East Muskingum Park (at the Gazebo) on Front Street in Marietta. $12 for advance registration and $15 the day of the race. Students only $10. All preregistered participants will receive a T-shirt. Prizes are rewarded for 9 different age groups. There is a school challenge built into the event – see application for details.

Youth basketball tournament
Best of the Best Basketball and Rossford City Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a basketball tournament on May 4-5. This will be a boys’ tournament and will have fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grade divisions. All teams will be guaranteed a minimum of three games and individual awards will be presented to first and second placed teams. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will benefit local parks in Rossford.
