Details for Marine’s funeral procession

Following a 10 a.m. funeral service Saturday morning at Marietta High School, a procession for fallen Marietta Marine Lance Cpl. Josh Taylor will wind its way through Marietta. The processional will come down Davis Avenue, turn left onto Muskingum Drive and continue on Third Street. It will take a left on Scammel Street and go to Mound Cemetery. Residents who usually park on Fifth Street from Putnam to Wooster Street or on Scammel from Fifth to Third Street are asked to find alternative parking Saturday morning and afternoon. Those who wish to pay their respects are welcome to line to processional route.

Belpre school board to discuss land sale

The Belpre City Schools Board of Education will hold a special board meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Stone Administration Building/Early Learning Center. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the sale of property at 2014 Washington Blvd., and other business brought before the board.

Congressman to talk mineral rights

Congressman Bill Johnson, R-Ohio, will hold a town hall event “Mineral Rights: Unraveling Federal Taxation” from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at Washington State Community College’s Graham Auditorium. The forum will address concerns and questions regarding tax filing requirements from mineral extraction income.

Boosters’ jazz

The Marietta Band Boosters will present the sixth annual Sweet Jazz Concert April 12 in the Marietta High School Auditorium. The cost is $5 per person. There will be music by the middle school and high school jazz bands and all the delicious desserts you can eat.

Relay For Life yard sale in Belpre

The Belpre Cancer Blasters Relay For Life team will hold a “This N That Inside Yard Sale” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 5 and 6 at the Belpre Lions Club on Murray Street in Belpre.
