Marietta FFA square dance benefit

The Marietta FFA is holding a square dance benefit fundraiser for Adam Biehl’s family from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Fearing firehouse. The cost is $5 per person, $8 per couple or $12 per family.

City health office offers immunizations

In conjunction with Marietta City Schools kindergarten registration, the Marietta City Health Department, 304 Putnam St., will offer immunizations to those entering kindergarten on 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and April 17. It is not necessary to make an appointment, but parents should bring their child’s immunization record with them. Siblings in need of immunizations are also welcome. The cost per immunization is $10. The medical card is also accepted. No child will be refused due to inability to pay. Every child entering kindergarten will get a special goody bag.

Spring Family Night at Belpre Elementary

Belpre Elementary School will hold its Spring Family Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the school, 2000 Rockland Ave. The theme will be “Celebrating Belpre” in honor of the birthday of the city of Belpre. Families will take part in activities that are representative of the early days of settlement such as making homemade butter, sewing, calligraphy, games and more. The Belpre Historical Society and Marietta College will be on hand with examples of historical documents to show students primary and secondary sources. Family photographs will be taken in period style costumes and a light meal will be served. All activities are free for Belpre Elementary students and families.

Free dinner

at Tunnel church

A free community dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Tunnel United Methodist Church. The menu includes spaghetti, salad, applesauce, bread, beverages and dessert. The dinner is free but donations will be accepted. Tunnel Church is located on Ohio 550, four miles west of Marietta.
