Art event to benefit Ely Chapman

The Ely Chapman Education Foundation will hold “A Taste of Fine Art” featuring student and community artists from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the foundation, 403 Scammel St., Marietta.

There will be a silent auction, live auction at 5:30 and a spaghetti dinner with all-you-can-eat spaghetti, salad and garlic bread. The cost is $10 per person, or $5 for those under 12 and $25 for a family of four or more.

Program covers Royal Glass history

“A Hidden Treasure: Marietta’s Royal Glass Co.” will be presented from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Castle in Marietta. Jim Measell will give the presentation about the company, which was in operation from 1898 to 1903. The event is free.

Green Chair event

at MMH cafeteria

The Donate Life Ohio’s Green Chair campaign will be in front of Marietta Memorial Hospital’s cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. Anyone whose life has been impacted by organ donation is invited to sit in the chair and tell their story. Registration forms will also be available to those who want to be organ donors as well as more information on organ donations.

Well-child clinic April 18 in Marietta

The Marietta City Health Department, 304 Putnam St., will hold a free Pediatric Well-Child Clinic April 18. This clinic is available to anyone under 21, regardless of insurance or income. The clinic is an opportunity for a child to have an exam if the family is without a physician or in between physicians. It could also be used for children with a medical card who are in need of a Healthchek. Call 373-0611, Ext. 186 for an appointment and for the nurse to obtain a history prior to the visit. No child will be seen on the day of the clinic without an appointment.

Area CROP Hunger Walk Sunday

The Mid-Ohio Valley CROP Hunger Walk will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. The 5-mile, community-wide walk begins at Third and Ohio streets in Marietta (under the Williamstown Bridge). The goal is to raise money for local food pantries and organizations around the world, and raise awareness of local and global hunger-related issues. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Marietta Community, First Church of the Nazarene, Gospel Mission and Helping Hands food pantries.
