Helen A. Petit

Helen A. Petit, 92, of Doylestown, Ohio, passed away on Sunday (April 14, 2013) with her loving family by her side.

She was born on Nov. 29, 1920, in Barberton to Edward and Amelia (Youngblood) Seifert. A life resident of Doylestown, she was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Altar Society, and had previously been a member of the American Legion Post 407 Auxiliary. Helen was so proud of her family and loved all of the family gatherings, especially euchre tournaments. She enjoyed traveling, braided rug-making and counted cross-stitching, leaving behind many beautiful treasures. Helen’s faith-filled life led her to trust in God every step of her life especially in her last days.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Petit; son, Michael Petit; sisters, Evelyn Petit, Ruth Oser, and Miriam Seifert; brothers, Don, Robert, Ivan, Dick, and Fr. Raymond Seifert. She is survived by her daughters, Joan (Robert) Lowe of Marshallville, Pam (Mike) Stevens of Doylestown, Jane (Thomas) Summers of Doylestown; sons, Joe (Jacquie) Petit of Doylestown, Paul (Sue) Petit of Doylestown, Terry (Patsy) Petit of Marietta, Tim (Shelly) Petit of Doylestown; daughter in-law, Carol Petit of Barberton: 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Paridon of Doylestown, Marita (Robert) Zupke of Akron, Joan (Dick) Wehling of Pittsburg, Carol (Dick) Hoover of Florida; sisters in-law, Rita and Margaret Seifert both of Barberton.

The family extends many thanks to every single person at the Doylestown Health Care Center. From the front desk, to activities, nurses, aides, food service, laundry, and housekeeping; all were wonderful caregivers.

Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, Ohio 44230 with Fr. Robert Stein, celebrant. Burial at the church cemetery. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown. Memorials may be made to Sts.
