Smorgasbord dinner at Chesterhill

The Chesterhill Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its monthly Smorgasbord Dinner Sunday. Dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the fire station on Ohio 555. The menu will include baked steak, roast pork and dressing, fried chicken, noodles, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, other side dishes and dessert. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Carry-out meals for the local area will be available by calling 554-6801 the day of the dinner.

annual cleanup

Dunham Township will hold its annual township cleanup from April 22 to 29. A dumpster will be located at the Dunham Township Fire Department. Items not permitted include any radioactive or asbestos materials, tires, batteries, paint, items containing freon, flammable, explosive, biomedical infectious or hazardous waste.

Bingo to benefit Buckeye All Stars

The Buckeye All Stars will host a Longaberger & Scentsy Bingo on Sunday at Beverly-Center Elementary School. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and bingo begins at 2. Early tickets are $20 for 20 games and are available by calling 984-8060. Tickets at the door will be $25. There will also be a 50/50, raffle, country store, food and fun. All proceeds will benefit the cheer and dance teams as they compete at the U.S. Finals in Virginia Beach.

Troopers take on MHS volleyball team

Troopers from the Marietta post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol will take on the Marietta High School girls volleyball team in a match at 10 a.m. Friday at the high school. The cost for admission is $1 and the event is open to the public. Proceeds will be split between the high school key club and Operation Feed, which will distribute food to local food pantries.

Castle director to speak at Cutler

Scott Britton, executive director of the Castle, will be the guest speaker at the “Third Thursday History Series” at the Cutler Community Center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road, at 7 p.m. today. He will be presenting on local Civil War history including USCT’s (U.S. Colored Troops) involvement in the war. The event is free and open to the public. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from the canteen.
