MC choirs to
The Marietta College Concert Choir and Women’s Choir will present a concert of a cappella music and cathedral classics at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 506 Fourth St., Marietta. The concert is free and open to the public.
Chicken pie dinner at Gilman church
A chicken pie dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta. There will be chicken pie, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw and dessert. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 10. The dinner is a fundraiser for the United Methodist Women.
Frontier alumni sponsor golf classic
The Frontier High School Alumni Association Committee from the classes of 1969-1985 is holding a golf scramble May 4 at the Pioneer Golf Course in Marietta. Proceeds from the scramble will go toward scholarships and special projects at Frontier High School. The day includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, lunch, cash payout, door prizes and more. The cost is $200 per four-person team. Teams have already been accepted but there is a waiting list in case of cancellations. Anyone interested in sponsoring a hole for the scramble should contact Jeff Beaver at 374-4026.
Five local handbell choirs will be joining together for a Spring Ring at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 506 Fourth St., Marietta. The concert is free and open to the public although a free will offering will be collected to cover any expenses with the rest of the offering divided among the five choirs to purchase music for future concerts.

Handbell choirs participating are the Christ United Methodist Church, First Lutheran Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. Mary Catholic Church and the Mid-Ohio Valley Ringers.
The Washington County Interstate Exchange 4-H Club will hold a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Beverly Masonic Lodge. The cost is a donation. The club is raising funds to travel to Montana for a 4-H exchange in June.
