Thanks to those who made CROP Walk a success

“Ending Hunger One Step at a Time” is the CROP Hunger Walk theme-and walk, we did! Over 155 participants came together on April 14 with over $12,600 in donations, and walked up to 5 miles each-“one step at a time!” Twenty-five percent of the funds raised will be distributed to the Marietta Community, Helping Hands, Gospel Mission, and First Church of the Nazarene food pantries. The remaining money will go to Church World Service partner organizations that help support hunger, clean water, and literacy projects throughout the world. We appreciate the overwhelming support we received to make this such a successful interfaith, community-wide event, and would like to thank the following: Mary Grubert (for the city of Marietta), Bill Farnsworth (director, Marietta Community Food Pantry), Rev. Kat Hawbaker, National Guard (tents), Chase Bank, Christ United Methodist, Faith United Methodist, First Church of the Nazarene, First Unitarian Universalist Society, First Congregational , First Presbyterian, First United Methodist Church (Williamstown), Gilman United Methodist, Heartland of Marietta, LDS Relief Society, Marietta College (Sarah Brunner and Connor Walters), Marietta Community Church, Marietta Welfare League, Mid-Ohio Valley Friends-Quakers, MOPS, North Hills Baptist, Norwood United Methodist, Parkersburg Catholic, Putnam Congregational, St. Luke’s Episcopal, St. Luke’s Lutheran-Kingdom Hearts, and St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Thank you for supporting this very worthy cause! Hope to see all of you again in 2014!
