EMFA James D. Neville III graduated from recruit training, or “boot camp,” at Naval Service Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. During the eight-week boot camp, he was a starboard watch section leader and received a marksmanship in shooting.
After graduating from boot camp, he attended three months of electrical school and firefighting training at Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes Naval Station. He also volunteered for an honor flight for veterans.
Neville will be stationed in Norfolk, Va., aboard the DDG-109 Jason Dunham Destroyer as an electrician’s mate. He is the son of Dan and Tanya Neville, both of Marietta, and grandson of Jackie and Ed Johnson and Jim and Janet Neville, all of Marietta. A celebration was held Saturday.
