Sewer repairs planned on Lord St.
The Marietta Wastewater Department will be making repairs to the Sanitary sewer in the area of 212 Lord St., on Thursday.
Lord Street will be closed to parking and traffic between Fearing and Elm Street and Harmar Street to allow for equipment access. Repairs are expected to be completed by Friday, however partial closure may extend through the weekend. Please drive with caution. The Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge will be holding a wildlife program for kids on Saturday, May 18 at 1 p.m. The program will be held at the visitor center located at 3982 Waverly Road in Williamstown. During the program, kids will discover how nature changes in the spring while collecting items along the trail to create a collage (ages 3-13).
The program is free and approximately 1 to 1.5 hour long. This is a family activity and a parent or guardian is required to be present. The program is weather permitting and closed toe shoes are recommended. For more information call the refuge at 304-375-2923 ext. 117.
Crohn’s and Colitis Support Group
The May meeting of the Crohn’s and Colitis Support Group will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at 7 p.m. in the Private Dining Room of Marietta Memorial Hospital. Shrimp and beer
dinner at Post 64
A shrimp and beer dinner and dance is 6 to 7:30 pm. Friday, May 3, at the American Legion, Post 64, at Wooster and Eighth streets. Dinner is $10; round and square dance 7 to 10 p.m. with 4 Hits and A Miss. Cost is $4 per person and there will be a 50/50 drawing. Open to the public and held the first Friday of each month.
