Unitarian church yard sale Saturday

The Unitarian Universalist Church will have a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Third and Putnam streets in Marietta.

Barlow-Vincent alumni banquet

The 2013 Barlow-Vincent Alumni Association will hold its annual banquet at 5:30 p.m. June 8 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church on Ohio 339 in Vincent. The classes of Vincent High School 1943, 1953 and Warren High School 1963 will be honored. Anyone graduating from Warren High School from 1961-64, or who attended Vincent High School are invited to attend. The cost of dinner and dues for members is $19 and is $13 for guests. Reservations with a check made payable to the Vincent Alumni Association is due by May 28. They can be mailed to Nina Mae Knost, 18401 State Route 550, Marietta, OH 45750.

Area beekeepers association meets

The Mid-Ohio Valley Beekeepers’ Association will meet at 7 p.m. May 28 at the Washington County Career Center on Ohio 676 in Marietta. Topics for discussion will include checkerboarding for swarm prevention and feeding of newly established colonies, by Jon Cleary, Noble County apiary inspector.

Neighborhood Watch meeting

The Decatur Neighborhood Watch organization will meet at the Decatur Community Building, 6505 State Route 555 at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Washington County Sheriff’s Office Major Brian Schuck will be the guest speaker. All area residents are invited to attend.

Meeting for Civil War Roundtable

The next regular meeting of the Civil War Roundtable of the Mid-Ohio Valley will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Campus Martius Museum, 601 Second St., Marietta. Mike Williams will deliver a presentation entitled, “The Role of Photo Illustrations in the American Civil War or The Case of the Moved Body.”

The event is free and open to the public. Small donations will be accepted to defray the cost of the speaker.
