The Warren Local Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. today at the administration office, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent for the purpose of discussing and possible voting on bids for the Warren Elementary/Warren High School boiler replacement project and for meeting in executive session to discuss the superintendent position.
Salem Twp. VFD ice cream social Sat.
The Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual ice cream social starting at 4 p.m. Saturday at Salem-Liberty Elementary School. The menu will include baked steak or chicken dinner with mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, applesauce, bread/butter, pies and cakes, beverages and hot dogs. There will be games from 5 to 7 p.m., the queen/little fire chief coronation at 7:30 p.m., country store at 8 p.m. and karaoke with “Big D” & Deidra.
Archeology dig results discussion
Archeologist Wes Clarke will present his recent discoveries from his archeology dig in The Castle’s side yard at 4 p.m. Sunday at The Castle, 418 Fourth St., Marietta. The cost is $5.
Benefit event June 9 on Buell Island
A benefit for Kyle Worstell will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 9 at Shelter A on Buell Island in Lowell. There will be food available, a basket raffle and a cornhole tournament.The cost is by donation and will go toward Worstell’s medical bills following back surgery. For those who can’t attend, donations can be made to the Kyle T. Worstell fund at Peoples Bank. Those who would like to donate items or baskets or sell tickets can call 984-2412 or 629-1854.
Antique power show in Howes Grove Park
The Pioneer Antique Power Association will hold its 14th annual show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Howes Grove Park in Belpre. The show will feature John Deere tractors and engines. Admission is free. Homemade ice cream and food will be available.
Alumni reunion at Skyvue School
The Franklin Rural, Stafford Village and Skyvue High School annual alumni reunion will be held Saturday at Skyvue Elementary on Hartshorn Ridge in Monroe County.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6:30. Those attending should being a covered dish and table service. Rolls and beverages will be provided.
