Right Path appreciates support of fundraiser

The Right Path for Washington County held its fourth annual fish fry/fundraiser Friday, May 31, at the Veterans of Foreign War Post #5108 on Pike Street in Marietta.

The Right Path continues to support healthy youth development, reducing and preventing youth substance abuse by strengthening our broad-based community coalition to support and encourage healthy choices. We do this through a variety of strategies that offer alternatives to drug and/or alcohol use/abuse, including our summer dances, family night swim parties and opportunities for community service.

Our events would not be possible without the support of our community and our many partners. From ticket sellers, fish lovers, silent auction item donators, to those that encouraged friends and family to dine with us, a big thank you!

As we enter into our ninth summer of safe teen and family events The Right Path is fortunate to have a hardworking board that supports each other and our mission. Our fish fry Chair, Judge Tim Williams, rallied our servers, and made sure that our patrons were served and their stomachs full. Thanks to all our board members that worked behind the scenes and those that breaded fish, boxed to-go orders, called out orders, washed dishes and collected tickets: Karen and Carl Waller, Miriam Keith, Shirley Holland, Dee and Bill Standish: Bill was a celebrity Lion’s Club French fry fryer recruited for his fry frying abilities; Maggie Webster, Stephanie Davis, Joellen Masten, Lashley Earley, Lynnaya Ross, Becky Scott, Letha Haas, Justin Moody, the VFW; Ronnie Davis our celebrity fish fryer, Wilda Horton and Jill Harris and Clear Channel Radio’s Doug Phelps was on hand to encourage our community to eat fish. The evening wouldn’t have been complete without our very talented entertainer, Corey Klinger, who played over 70 songs, from every genre, with his acoustic guitar and small amp.

Thank you to those that donated the wonderful items for our silent auction: Ann Trembly, Cathy Mackey of The Lark’s Nest, A Silver Lining, Miriam Keith, The Cook’s Shop, Larry Simmons Honda, Anita Meek, Harper’s Landing, Pat Brownrigg, Clear Channel Radio, Lisa Valentine, Stephanie Wiles, WMOA Radio, Bill and Dee Standish, Dorothy Peppel, Van Olnhausen, Sleep Green Ohio Valley, Tim Williams, Doreen Horn, Geoff Schenkel, Maggie and Tom Webster, Amrine Awards and thanks to our supporters and media partners: Washington County Behavioral Health Board, The Right Path, VFW Post #5108, United Way, Marietta Community Foundation, The Marietta Times (Claire Heiby,) The Anchor (Brad Bauer,) WMOA (John Wharff,) Clear Channel Radio (Greg Siegfried,) Chuck Poet, Kirk McCall, Doug Phelps, John Chalfant, and all who go above and beyond the call of duty in their continued support of The Right Path.
