Williamstown Ice Cream Social

The Williamstown Volunteer Fire Company will hold its 69th annual ice cream social beginning at 6 p.m. July 19 in the city park. Proceeds will go toward new firefighting equipment and fleet upgrades. There will be hot dogs, soda, coffee, popcorn, cakes, pies and ice cream. There will be a limited number of half gallon containers for purchase. Donations of pies and cakes are being accepted and can be brought to the city building on July 19 or can be picked up if you call 304-375-7761. Cream pies, including pumpkin, can not be accepted.

Switzerland of Ohio meeting July 11

The Switzerland of Ohio Local Board of Education will have a special meeting at 5 p.m. July 11 at 304 Mill St., Woodsfield to consider personnel issues and any other business deemed necessary.

Independence Twp. trustees to meet

The regular monthly meeting of the Independence Township trustees will be at 6 p.m. Friday in the townhouse on Upper Archers Fork Road.

Free meal July 11

at Tunnel church

A free community meal will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. July 11 at Tunnel United Methodist Church, Ohio 550 and Coffman Road. The menu will include ham, potato salad, baked beans, fresh fruit and dessert. Donations are accepted. For delivery within five miles of the church, call 374-5634.

Fundraiser at Pizza Place helps Wall

The Marietta Wall of Sound Marching Band and The Original Pizza Place on Second Street in Marietta will hold a fundraiser from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Fifteen percent of all receipts collected will go to the band to benefit the music programs at the middle school and high school.

MHS?Class of ’83’s

30-year reunion

The Marietta High School Class of 1983 will hold its 30th reunion July 19 and 20. Classmates will gather July 19 at the Boat House and July 20 in the private social room at the Marietta Brewing Company. Both events start at 7 p.m. and are casual dress. A $5 charge per person is requested to cover the cost of the room and light refreshments on July 20. Food and beverages may be purchased.
