Bingo twice a week at St. Mary School

Bingo is being held every Thursday and Saturday at St. Mary School, Third and Marion streets, Marietta. Doors open at 4 p.m. and bingo starts at 7.

Ice cream social at park, senior center

The Belpre High School Alumni Association will hold its annual ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Howes Grove Park and the Belpre Senior Center. There will be cakes and pies, hand-scooped ice cream, beverages, hot dogs and chips along with live music and a tractor and antique car display. Money from the social will be used for scholarships for Belpre students.

Switzerland BOE will hold special meeting

The Switzerland of Ohio Local Board of Education will have a special meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday at 304 Mill St., Woodsfield to consider personnel issues and any other business deemed necessary.

Ice cream social in Williamstown park

The Williamstown Volunteer Fire Company will hold its 69th annual ice cream social beginning at 6 p.m. July 19 in the city park. Proceeds will go toward new firefighting equipment and fleet upgrades. There will be hot dogs, soda, coffee, popcorn, cakes, pies and ice cream. There will be a limited number of half gallon containers for purchase. Donations of pies and cakes are being accepted and can be brought to the city building on July 19 or can be picked up by calling 304-375-7761. Cream pies, including pumpkin, can not be accepted.

Community offered free meal Thursday

A free community meal will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Tunnel United Methodist Church, Ohio 550 and Coffman Road. The menu will include ham, potato salad, baked beans, fresh fruit and dessert. Donations are accepted. For delivery within 5 miles of the church, call 374-5634.

‘LOVE for LINDA’ benefit is planned

The “LOVE for LINDA” benefit for Linda Marks of Veto will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. July 20 in the Warren High School cafeteria. Marks is on the heart transplant list at The Ohio State University Medical Center. The benefit is to help the family with trips back and forth and motel rooms, or whatever is needed for Linda to receive her heart transplant. There will a spaghetti dinner, music and lots of raffles.
