Noble Co. Historical Society plans tea

The Noble County Historical Society will hold a luncheon/tea at the Ball-Caldwell Hospitality House, 16 East St., Caldwell, on Saturday. Tea will be served from 1 to 3 p.m. along with a variety of treats and sweets. A seat at the tea party can be reserved by sending a check for $15 to the Noble County Historical Society, P.O. Box 128, Caldwell, Ohio 43724. Reservations must be received by Wednesday. Please note “Tea Party” on the memo line of your check.

Post 64 Saturday

Ballroom DJ Sandi Elam will be at American Legion Post 64, Eighth and Wooster streets from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $25 per couple, cash only, at the door. There will be a cash bar. Those attending may bring snacks, but no drinks. Remaining dances of the year will be Aug. 10 and Sept. 14.

Historical book’s author at museum

In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War and the Battle at Buffington Island, the Campus Martius Museum and the Washington County Public Library will host Lester Horwitz, author of the Pulitzer Prize-nominated book “The Longest Raid of the Civil War.” The program will take place at the Campus Martius Museum at 2 p.m. July 20. It is free and open to the public.

Rabies vaccination clinic Saturday

A rabies vaccinations clinic for dogs and cats will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Washington County Health Department, 342 Muskingum Drive, Marietta. The cost is $7 per animal. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. All animals must be at least 12 weeks old.
