The Frontier Country 4-H club held their meeting on July 14 at member’s Ashton Deel home. The pledges were lead by Alyssa Winstanley and Ashton Deel. Danielle Weddle completed roll call with all members answering by their favorite animal, Kristen Winstanley reviewed the treasurer’s report. The club discussed the 2013 4-H Theme “Brighten your World with 4-H”, at the next meeting club members will review ideas for the fair booth; Parent Jessica Bellville will be assisting members with Trash Can Painting. On Aug. 3 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Washington Fairgrounds, market rabbit tattooing will be completed for members that need this prior to the fair. The first annual Wild Game Cook-Off, will be held on Sept. 26 at the Barlow Fairgrounds. Anyone who is interested in participating in this event can contact Dean Sinclair at 373-4857. Grace Brookover discussed her first year in attending 4-H camp. She enjoyed herself and plans to attend next year. Members who have feeder calf, we reminded that feeder tag-in will be held on July 20 at 8 a.m. to noon at the Barlow Fairgrounds. A thank you note was shared with the club from the Endowment committee for the club’s donation. The club’s 4-H Fun Day will be held on Aug. 3. The members and their families will be attending Zoombezi Bay in Columbus. It was discussed a count will be completed on who is attending, all will meet at Wal-Mart at 8 a.m. The club will provide lunch meat, bread and drinks for a picnic lunch and members will bring picnic items. Members were reminded that pen reservations will be collected at the next meeting. Demonstrations were completed by Jayde Seevers and Ashton Deel on Market Broiler, the next meeting will be held on July 28 at the Bellville home.
