Marietta Day

The 57th annual Marietta Day Celebration will be held Saturday and Sunday. There will be a skating party at the Marietta roller rink from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday with free pizza and a dinner at Masonic Park Sunday. The park opens at 11 a.m. with food served at 1 p.m. There will be chicken, ham, hot dogs and table service provided. Water will also be provided. Those attending should bring a covered dish or dessert to share. There will be games, giveaways, a silent auction, karaoke and raffles.

Free, anonymous HIV testing Thursday

Free, anonymous HIV testing will be done from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Washington County Health Department, 342 Muskingum Drive, Marietta. Call ahead for an appointment at 374-2782, Ext. 1021.

Dinner at Little Muskingum VFD

A roasted chicken or ham dinner will be held at noon Aug. 4 at the Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department on Ohio 26.

Program on ticks, impact on animals

A free program about ticks and the effects on pets and livestock will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Reicher Building in McConnelsville. Retired OSU Extension Entomologist Glenn Needham will give a presentation and answer questions.

Reno VFD ice cream social Saturday

The Reno Volunteer Fire Department ice cream social will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday behind Pioneer Chevrolet on Ohio 7. There will be food, games, a country store and entertainment. Those attending should bring their own lawn chair. Monetary donations may be sent to P.O. Box 346 Reno, Ohio 45773.

Oak Grove VFD social on Aug. 3

The Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual ice cream social beginning at 4 p.m. Aug. 3. There will be chicken dinners, hot dogs, ice cream, pies and cakes. There will also be inflatables, games, a train ride for children, a country store, 50/50 drawings and prize raffles with drawings to begin at 7 p.m. Union Valley Bluegrass will perform from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Those interested in helping can call 525-4640.
