The Wesley Township Volunteer Fire Department’s women’s auxiliary will hold a breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Aug. 17 at the fire department in Bartlett. The cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

Basket Bingo will be held Aug. 17 at St. Ambrose Church, 5080 School House Road, Little Hocking. Doors open at 11 a.m. and bingo begins at noon.

Church taking Smart Choice food orders
The Second Congregational Church, 1855 Greene St., Marietta, will be taking orders for a new food program, Smart Choice Foods, at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The last day to order food online is Tuesday by 6 p.m. Food will be distributed at the church from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Aug. 24. There are no income guidelines or limits.

Ice cream social Sunday at Beverly
An ice cream social will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Dodge Park in Beverly. There will be sloppy joes, brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, pie, ice cream, tea and lemonade, along with DJ Jim Davis of Huntington, W.Va., clowns, face painting and balloons. Proceeds go to the Special Olympics and Beverly Masonic Foundation. In the event of bad weather, the social will move to the Beverly Masonic Lodge.

The Barlow Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual ice cream social from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. There will be BBQ chicken dinners, hot dogs, desserts and ice cream, along with children’s games, a silent auction, country store, many prizes, Med Flight and AirEvac and more.
Food pantry holds pancake breakfast
The Marietta Community Food Pantry will hold a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s of Marietta from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Tickets are $5 at the door. Proceeds will go to the pantry.
