Spaghetti dinner fundraiser Aug. 23
A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 23 at the American Legion in Williamstown to help send Thad Duvall to race the International Six Days of Enduro in Italy. The cost is $7 a plate. The meal will also include salad, bread and dessert. There will also be a 50/50, country store and International Six Days of Enduro T-shirts for sale.
Bake sale to support Alzheimer’s Walk
Staff of the O’Neill Center in Marietta will hold a bake sale from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday. Proceeds will support the Alzheimer’s Walk taking place on Sept. 7 in Parkersburg City Park.
Williamstown Eagles square dance Fri.
The Williamstown Eagles will hold a square dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday with 4 Hits and a Miss. The cost is $4. There will be food available, a cake walk and a 50/50 drawing.
Genealogical Society annual picnic
The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will hold its annual picnic meeting at noon Saturday at the Don and Sharon Gardner home, 1645 County Road 9, Marietta. Those attending should bring a potluck dish to share. Meat, rolls, a drink and eating utensils will be provided.

The Friends of the Barlow Library are sponsoring a program on Zelda Fitzgerald as portrayed by Debra Conner. The event is free and open to the public and will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the library. Sign-up is requested by calling 678-0103.
Steak and chicken supper in Lowell
American Legion Post 750 in Lowell will hold a steak fry or chicken breast supper from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the post hall. All meals come with bread, salad, coffee or water. The cost for a steak dinner, cooked to order, is $10. A chicken breast dinner is $7 and a no meat meal is $5. Dessert will also be sold.
Wesley Twp. VFD auxiliary breakfast
The Wesley Township Volunteer Fire Department’s women’s auxiliary will hold a breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the fire department in Bartlett. The cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
