Wildflower Walk Tuesday at refuge

A “Fall Native Wildflower Walk” will be held at the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The walk will depart from the refuge visitor center, located at 3982 Waverly Road in Williamstown. This walk will follow the refuge trails while participants learn how to identify native wildflowers. Master Naturalist Emily Grafton will lead the walk.

Free lunch at

Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church of Marietta is offering a free lunch for the community from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The church is located on the corner of Wooster and Fourth streets with the entrance off Wooster Street.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser today

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the American Legion in Williamstown to help send Thad Duvall to race the International Six Days of Enduro in Italy. The cost is $7 a plate. The meal will also include salad, bread and dessert. There will also be a 50/50, country store and International Six Days of Enduro T-shirts for sale.

Bring One flower, seed exchange

The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardeners will hold their annual Bring One Take One Flower & Seed Exchange Saturday. Bring your plants, seeds or bulbs at 9 a.m. and the exchange will start at 10 in Upper Muskingum River Park in the 500 block of Front Street in Marietta. Please label each so the new owner will know the name, planting instructions, color, bloom season, etc. Houseplants are also welcome. Those who have extra shovels, gardening tools, aprons, ceramic pots, unopened soil and fertilizer and garden decorations can bring them to exchange.

Archery instruction at Crooked Creek

The Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge and Crooked Creek Archery will be presenting archery instruction from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 31 for all ages. No registration is needed and walk-ins are welcome. The event will be held at Crooked Creek Archery at 16 Plum Run Road off Route 31 in Williamstown.
