Basket bingo will be held at K of C Hall

The Washington County Special Olympics will host a Longaberger basket bingo Sept. 21 at the K of C Hall on Ohio 676 in Churchtown. Doors open at 3 p.m. and bingo begins at 5. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance by calling WASCO Workshop at 373-3418. Tickets will also be available the day of the event. There will also be a country store, 50/50, raffles and concessions.

Reno club will hold community yard sale

The Reno Lions Club will hold a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Marietta Township Recreation Center. The cost to rent a space is $15 and tables are available for $5. Proceeds will benefit the club’s service projects.

Bingo will benefit Boy Scout Troop 217

Bingo featuring Longaberger baskets and pottery will be held on Sept. 14 at the Barlow Fairgrounds dining hall to benefit Boy Scout Troop 217. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 6:30. There will be an early bird drawing, 50/50, country store and a special Middleton Doll raffle.

Funeral home plans annual gospel sing

Leavitt Funeral Home, 801 Victor St., Belpre will have its annual gospel sing from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Musical groups performing will be Day Spring, Mission Trio, New Legacy and The Williams Family. There will also be an antique car and tractor display, free food and drinks and a tent provided for shade.

Rumpke service will be delayed for a day

Rumpke waste removal and recycling collection service will not occur today due to the Labor Day holiday. Service will be delayed one day during the week of the holiday. Today’s collection will move to Tuesday; Tuesday’s collection will move to Wednesday and so on. Regular collection will resume the week of Sept. 9. Visit for Rumpke’s annual holiday schedule.
