MHS?Tiger Navy

celebrates 50 years

The Marietta High School Tiger Navy is kicking off the start of its 50th year of rowing with a christening and naming ceremony of two brand new shells. The celebration will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Carl L. Broughton high school boathouse, 814 Gilman Ave., Marietta. Current rowers, parents, Tiger Navy alumni and everyone in the community is invited to participate.

Fearing Twp. VFD dinner on Sept. 21

The Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual September Dinner Sept. 21 at the fire station at 1975 Stanleyville Road, Whipple. Serving starts at 4 p.m. There will be a serving choice of pork chops or chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles, green beans and a choice of pie or cake.

Port Authority’s

meetings announced

The Southeastern Ohio Port Authority will have the following meetings this month:

The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors will meet at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Port Authority Office.

The monthly Board of Directors Meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 24 on the campus of Washington State Community College in the Center for Business and Technology, Room 105.

All Port Authority meetings are open to the public.

Little Muskingum VFD dinner Sunday

The Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Department will hold a roasted chicken or ham dinner at noon Sunday at the department, 15015 State Route 26.

Longaberger basket bingo Sept. 14

Bingo featuring Longaberger baskets and pottery will be held on Sept. 14 at the Barlow Fairgrounds dining hall to benefit Boys Scout Troop 217. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 6:30. There will be an early bird drawing, 50/50, country store and a special Middleton Doll raffle.
