Warren High’s Class of 1973 reunion
The Warren High School Class of 1973 40th class reunion will be held Sept. 29 at Goodfellows Park. The celebration will start at noon. Those attending should bring their own drink and food.

‘Carbon Nation’ showing Sept. 18
There will be a free showing of “Carbon Nation,” a movie about climate change solutions, at 7 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 232 Third St., Marietta.
Wild game cook-off at Barlow Fair
Think your venison roast is the best? Think your catfish can’t be touched? Enter the first Wild Game Cook-Off to have expert judges test your cooking skills. The judging will be Sept. 26 during the Barlow Fair. For information or to receive a copy of the rules contact Dean Sinclair at 373-4857.
Saturday at refuge
The Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge will hold an “Insect Safari” for children ages 6 to 15 at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Visitor Center located at 3982 Waverly Road in Williamstown. The program will include a hands-on insect hike, games and a craft. The program is free and approximately two hours long. Reserve a spot by calling (304) 375-2923, Ext. 117. This is a family activity and parents or guardians are required to be present. In the event of inclement weather, call or check the refuge Facebook page to find out if the program is canceled.
Marietta water office closing for training
The City of Marietta’s water office will be closing on Tuesday and Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. for training. The office will also be closed on Sept. 19 until noon for training. Normal business hours will apply both Monday and Sept. 20.
