Antique power show at Noble County Fairgrounds

The Old Iron Power Club, LLC presents its 6th annual Antique Power Show and Heritage Park on Sept. 21 and 22 at the Noble County Fairgrounds, in Caldwell, just off I-77, Exit 25.

The Old Iron Power Club, LLC is a non-profit group of people who came together to preserve the past by displaying antique engines, tractors and working equipment for others to see and enjoy.

The OIPC holds an annual show the third weekend of September in which displays of antique hit-and-miss engines, tractors and equipment are enjoyed by many visitors. Daily demonstrations of working equipment including stone crushing, wheat threshing, corn husking, corn grinding, square hay baling, a working sorghum press and making of molasses, a band saw mill are always a big hit of the show.

John Deere Tractors and Equipment as well as Witte Engines will be the feature for this year. All other makes and models are welcome, too. Gas engines, tractors, antique cars & trucks, old track type tractors & graders, crafts, flea market, and Sunday church service will all be a part of the two day show.

Heritage Park will be filled with a timeline or walk through of Ohio History with historical resource displays, storytellers, Native American story teller, primitive crafts, demonstrations of drop spindle needle felting, weaving, dyeing fibers by a civil war seamstress, making straw hats, pottery – clay whistles, metal bending, representatives from the Fifth Virginia Confederate War Unit and various activities of the 1800 and 1900’s.

Food and meals will be available on the show ground: Cowboy Dan’s concessions will be offer barbecue and other delicious treats, Uncle Dan’s homemade ice cream, soup beans & cornbread, Italian sausages, haymaker’s stew, homemade noodles and angel food cake, and buttery popcorn.

Added attractions to the show: Saturday at 1 a kids’ pedal tractor pull, free entertainment will be at the new Mid-way Stage featuring The Buckeye Travelers Band at 1 p.m. and Tom & Carol Wriston – The Right Combination at 4 p.m. Sunday attractions are a garden tractor pull and the Pickin’ On Country Band at 2 at the Mid-way Stage. A parade on the show ground is held both days at noon. The show gates will open at 8 a.m. There will be plenty of activities for all ages to enjoy.
