50th: Lee, Gloria Jobes
Lee B. and Gloria G. (Hays) Jobes will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 28. They were married at the First United Methodist Church in Williamstown, W.Va. by the Rev. James R. Wooddell.
She is the daughter of the late Ralph and Ethel (Young) Hays. She graduated from Marietta High School with the class of 1960. She held a position as the secretary for the 302nd Tactical Airlift Wing, Aerial Spray Branch at Rickenbacker Air Force Base in Columbus, Ohio. This was the only unit of its kind in the Air Force. She retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, Airway Facilities Sector at Port Columbus International Airport in 1994 as the administrative officer.
He is the son of the late Alonzo and Marie (Matthews) Jobes. He retired from the military in 1986 with the rank of Master Sergeant. He served nine years active duty in the Air Force, one year active duty in the Army (Berlin Crisis) and 24 years as an Air Reserve Technician Maintenance Foreman at Rickenbacker Air Force Base in Columbus. Tours of duty included Japan, England and Germany. He is a Korean War Veteran. He finished his career with the Department of Defense as an Equipment Specialist at Defense Construction Supply Center in Columbus.
They are the parents of four children: Kimberly (Douglas) Agler, Lee B. Jobes II (deceased), Lisa (Scott) Emrich and Jennifer (James) McCord. They have eight grandchildren: Nicole, Samantha, Zachary, Justin, Eric, MacKenah, Benjamin and Brandon and one great-grandson, Ethan.
They reside at 102 Eldorado Drive, Marietta. A family dinner will be held to celebrate the occasion.
