Story time at library’s Beverly branch

The Beverly branch of the Washington County Public Library will hold story time featuring stories about skeletons at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Children ages 2 to 5 are welcome when they are accompanied by an adult.

FLEDA to hold its annual commerce dinner on Nov. 8

FLEDA, the Frontier Local Economic Development Association, will hold its annual commerce dinner on Nov. 8 at Frontier High School. This annual event recognizes businesses and individuals for their contribution to the economic wellbeing of the FLEDA area.

Tickets are $15 per person which include dinner and awards ceremony. Tickets may be purchased by calling 373-6681 or 373-3745, Ext. 201.

City officials set drop-off spots for bagged leaves

Beginning immediately, Marietta officials have designated four areas for residents to drop-off bagged leaves: Indian Acres, Buckeye Park, Lookout Park and Greenleaf Landscapes Compost facility on Ohio 821. Only leaves can be disposed of at the sites.

City crews will begin leaf pickup on Nov. 4. Residents are asked to not put bagged leaves out for the city crew to pick up. Rake the leaves between the curb and sidewalk, not into the street.

Second annual Kardex reunion planned for Sunday

The second annual Kardex reunion will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion in Marietta.

Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish.

Financial statements for WCCC available for public review

The Washington County Career Center recently completed its fiscal year ending June 30.

The Unaudited General Purpose Financial Statements are available for review between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Treasurer’s Office.

Woman’s home in Marietta to host open house

The Woman’s Home, 812 Third St., Marietta will hold an open house celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The nonprofit site provides long term and short term (respite) care for elderly women.
