Job fair organizers appreciate support

On Oct. 23, the Washington County Resource Team, which is a collaboration of non-profit, education and government services, held its first job fair. A big thank you to the employers and training providers (over 70) that set up in the Washington County Junior Fair Building to talk to and even accept resumes and/or applications from job seekers. There were over 400 job seekers who attended the event. We would like to thank our sponsors WMOA for the free advertising and live remote during the event, the Washington County Fair Board for the use of the Junior Fair Building, tables and chairs, SuddenLink who provided the wireless internet service that was utilized by many and to Barb Handschumacher and Steve Hill for representing The American Legion Post 64 during the veterans hour, which gathered 71 veteran job seekers. A special thank you for the donation of an employer door prize to the Marietta YMCA, Buckeye Hills Hocking Valley Regional District/Area Agency on Aging, Washington State Community College, Marietta Community Foundation and the Washington County Public Library.
