Belpre board hears about 8th graders’ trip to D.C.

BELPRE – The Belpre City Schools District Board of Education welcomed students from the eighth-grade class Monday as the board members were told about the class trip to Washington, D.C.

Parent Greg Osburn, who organized the trip with fellow parent Melinda Baker, said he and other adult chaperones from the Belpre area escorted 30 Belpre Middle School eighth-grade students to the nation’s capital for a three-day tour, Oct. 24 through 26.

“Everyone at this meeting would be very proud of the way the kids conducted themselves,” Osburn said. “They were well-behaved and polite to everyone and all of the tour guides and bus drivers commented to the chaperones on how great the kids were.”

The group of 50 people – 30 students and 20 adult chaperones – presented a slideshow of photos the students and parents took during the trip. These photos include trips to the Capitol building, numerous memorials as well as museums.
