Baby Steps Benefit for Paisley Nov. 27

A benefit dinner, basketball game and auction will be held in Marietta Nov. 27 in honor of Paisley Skinner, daughter of Thad and Ashley (Ollom) Skinner of Waterford. Paisley, born in May, is suffering from multiple health issues. The event is titled Baby Steps Benefit for Paisley.

The Townhouse will host a pre-game happy hour and dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Twenty percent of proceeds will be donated to the Skinner family. Marietta College will host a basketball game (vs. Wooster) and auction at Ban Johnson Arena. The auction begins at 6 p.m. and will run through half time. Marietta College is donating all of the gate proceeds to the Skinner family. All money raised from the auction will be donated to the Skinner family.

on Shrine Club’s TV?

The Marietta Shrine Club will show the OSU vs. Michigan game on its big screen. Doors open one hour before kick-off on Nov. 30. The cost is $5. Children 8 and under are free.

Session to help with grief at the holidays

A one-day session of “GriefShare-Surviving the Holidays” will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Sand Hill United Methodist Church. The seminar features video interviews with counselors, grief experts and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death and who offer practical suggestions and reassurance. There is no charge for the seminar which will be held in the Child Care Building of the church located at 725 Sandhill Road, Reno.

Lawrence church

to host giveaway

The Lawrence Baptist Church will host a free giveaway from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Items will include clothes, toys, baby supplies, household items and some furniture. The Women’s Ministries group of the church will also be serving free soup and finger sandwiches during the giveaway. It is open to the public. The church is located in Darton Ohio 26.

Financial Aid Night at MHS Dec. 5

Financial Aid Night will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 in the Marietta High School library. A financial aid representative will review how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and free materials regarding grants, loans and scholarships will be available.
