Gary Eugene Combs

Gary Eugene Combs, 66, of Beverly, finished the race Sunday (Nov. 24, 2013).

He was born June 10, 1947, in Marietta, son of Bernard and Pauline Young Combs. He graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1965. He was a bi-vocational pastor for 33 years and currently pastored his loving church family at Faith Joy Fellowship. He had been associated with Markinetics in Marietta for many years. Throughout his life he was involved in many different ministries including: Morgan County United Ministries, House of Hope Central Ohio, Big Brother Big Sister, Lifetree Cafe, World Vision, Operation Christmas Child and Cornerstone Prayer Ministry. He spent his life and time being about the “Fathers” business. He spread God’s love and the good news of the Kingdom wherever he was. He deeply loved his family and so many more who were part of his spiritual family.

He was married Sept. 23, 1967, to Jane Wiley Combs who survives. Also surviving are two children, Jason Combs and wife, Stacy, of Colonial Beach, Virginia, and Valerie Huck and husband, Duane, of Beverly; grandchildren, (Jason’s) Rylee, Liz, Jude, Zane, Ava and Kenzie, (Valerie’s) CJ, Logan, Camden, Laina and Lily; Special “daughter” Ellen Gonzeles (Abel) and special “Little Brother” David Black; Godson, Heath Pottmeyer; three brothers, Rick Combs and wife Diane of Lancaster, Ohio, Dave Combs and wife Christy of Beverly. Carl Combs and wife Susan of Ann Arbor, Michigan; a sister, Karen Pottmeyer and husband Ted of Churchtown; sister-in-law, Nan Cecil of Logan, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Faith Joy Fellowship, 1777 St. Rt. 83 N, Beverly, Ohio, with Pastor Travis Christman officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly.
