Breakfast with Santa event will be Dec. 7

Belpre Heights United Methodist Church, 720 Clement Ave., will hold its annual Breakfast with Santa from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec.7.

Woodsfield festival is planned

The eighth annual Woodsfield Christmas Festival will be held Dec. 7. It will include Breakfast with Santa; Kiwanis Ornament Walk; Santa’s Workshop; Craft Show at Monroe County Court House; Holiday Bazaar at United Methodist Church; Santa’s Workshop at St. Sylvester’s School; Pictures with Santa at Pat’s Gift Shoppe; Carriage Rides; Monroe Artists Holiday Mart; Lighted Parade at 6 p.m.; ending with Holiday Concert by the Monroe Singers at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Church on Main Street.

Library to focus on holiday traditions

Children ages 3 to 6 are invited to come to the Washington County Public Library at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 14 to learn about holiday traditions from other cultures. Registration is required, by stopping by the Youth Services department or calling 373-1057, Ext. 219.

Beverly display and auction event Dec. 8

The eighth annual Beverly Lions Club’s Christmas Display and Treats Auction will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the former Mindling Building, 220 5th St. There will be browsing from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the auction. Area businesses and individuals will participate by entering decorated trees, wreaths, table decorations and Christmas food items. All items will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. All proceeds will be divided equally between the Diabetes Association and the Lions Club community projects.

Merry Tuba music program at MC

The Edward E. MacTaggart Department of Music at Marietta College will present the ninth annual Merry Tuba Christmas at 4 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Friedrich Theatre of the Hermann Fine Arts Center. The concert features traditional Christmas carols arranged for tubas, euphoniums and baritones. The concert is free and open to the public. Anyone who plays tubas, euphonium, baritones or the trumpet may participate. Register to play by contacting Marshall Kimball at or in the lobby of Hermann Fine Arts Center from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 7. Some baritones and tubas are available for use on a first come, first served basis. Rehearsal is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
