outage in Oak Grove
A Warren Community Water and Sewer Association planned water outage beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday for line repairs in the Oak Grove area will affect homes and businesses on Waterford Road, Ash Road, Pineview Circle, Oak Grove Road and Oakview Lane. A boil advisory will be in effect.
Benefit for Jim, Ruth Blair at Cutler Center
A benefit to raise money for Jim and Ruth Blair, who host the musicians at the Third Sunday Dinners, will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 25 at the Cutler Community Center, 4450 Two Mile Run Road.
There will be a pot luck dinner, auction, raffles and singers. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and/or dessert. Donation of items for the auction or raffles is appreciated. Proceeds will help the Blairs with medical expenses.
Free legal advice clinic Wednesday
The Washington County Bar Association and Southeastern Ohio Legal Services will hold a free advice clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 320 Second St., Marietta.
Walk-ins are welcome. The clinic, held the third Wednesday of each month, is for Washington County residents unable to afford legal representation (less than 187 percent of the poverty guideline).

tree sale Feb. 28
The Washington Soil and Water Conservation District annual tree sale is being held through Feb. 28.
Customers can purchase deciduous trees, coniferous trees and seed packets. Some of the plants in this year’s sale include native wildflower and grass seed, wildlife food plot mix, American chestnut, Black Walnut, Black Cherry, Bald Cypress, and Canadian hemlock. Christmas tree drop offs until Jan. 20
Marietta residents can drop off Christmas trees until Jan. 20 at the following locations:
Indian Acres Park.
Greenleaf on Ohio 821 (stop at the Muskingum Drive retail store for a dump ticket).
