Switzerland BOE planning session

The Switzerland of Ohio Local Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Traditions restaurants, 113 South Main St., Woodsfield. The purpose of the meeting is to consider long-range planning for the district. There will be no public participation.

Smorgasbord

at Chesterhill

The Chesterhill Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its monthly smorgasbord dinner on Sunday. Dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the fire station on Ohio 555 in Chesterhill. The menu will consist of fried chicken, meat loaf, noodles, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, other side dishes, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Carryout meals for the local area will be available by calling 554-6801 the day of the dinner.

MHS Class of ’52 meets Jan. 29

The Marietta High School Class of 1952 will meet at Prime Steak and Seafood at the Comfort Inn in Marietta at 11 a.m. Jan. 29. Classmates and friends are welcome.

Board of elections closed Monday

The Washington County Board of Elections will be closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

MOVP fundraiser

at Pizza Place

A “Raise Some Dough” fundraiser will be held at The Original Pizza Place, 231 Second St., Marietta on Jan. 21. The Mid-Ohio Valley Players will host the fundraiser between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Those who drop their receipts in their container after paying for their order will have 15 percent of the receipt benefit MOVP. Customers can also call in their order at 374-4333 and mention MOVP.

Strip steak, chicken dinner at Post 750

Lowell American Legion Post 750 will have a strip steak or chicken breast fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $10 for a steak meal, $7 for a chicken meal and $5 for a no-meat meal. All meals are eat-in or carryout and come with salad, baked potato, a choice of coffees or water. Dessert will also be sold.
