Free tax prep

available at Barlow

AARP Tax-Aide Free Tax Preparation will be available at the Barlow branch of the Washington County Public Library from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays from Feb. 5 through April 9. No appointment is needed. The assistance is for all ages. Those filing taxes should bring a Social Security card for themselves and all dependents, all W-2s and 1099s and the previous year’s return.

Program on owls

at wildlife refuge

Mike Williams will lead the hands-on program “Looking into Owl Pellets” at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center at 3982 Waverly Road, Williamstown. The program will explore what an owl eats and the contents of an owl pellet and is for all ages.

Free community lunch at Beverly

The Beverly United Methodist Church will sponsor a free community lunch on the last Saturday of each month. The first meal is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 25. The menu is soup, sandwich, dessert and beverage. The church at 700 Park St. is handicapped accessible. All are welcome. No reservations required.
