Gardening series continues Sunday
The third in the Marietta Community Gardening Classes series at the First Universalist Church, 232 Third St., Marietta will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Marietta in Bloom volunteers will talk about the new organization, its work this fall and plans for the spring. All gardeners or potential gardeners are welcome.

Piano trio concert Sunday at Castle
The Winter Salon Series Trillium Piano Trio Concert “Gypsy Journey” will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at The Castle in Marietta. For reservations call 373-4180. Individual tickets for one concert are $15 for adults, $12.50 for members, and $10 for students. Conversations about the composers and their music as well as refreshments are included.
Beekeepers’ group to meet on Jan. 28
The Mid-Ohio Valley Beekeepers’ Association will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Washington County Career Center on Ohio 676 in Marietta. January’s topic of discussion will be on Mite Treatments by Sam Hammett. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Congressman to honor area veterans
U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Ohio, will present a flag in honor of Belpre area veterans, and then participate in a “Sit Down with Seniors” event from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Belpre Senior Center, 1614 Washington Blvd., Belpre.
Johnson will provide a legislative update focused on seniors, Social Security and Medicare, and then take questions from those in attendance. Following the program, a member of Johnson’s staff will be available to meet with any seniors with questions and/or those that need assistance with a federal agency.
Story time dates at Williamstown library
