Choir department will hold yard sale

The Warren High School Choir Department will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 15 in the high school cafeteria.

Breast and cervical cancer screenings in mobile health van

Breast and cervical cancer screenings and education will be provided by the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Community Health Programs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 4 in the program’s mobile health van at the old M&M school lot on Jefferson Street between Kennebec and 7th streets in McConnelsville. There will be free Pap tests, pelvic and breast examinations, breast health education and appointments for mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women. Appointments are required:1-800-844-2654.

Democratic women will meet Thursday

The Washington County Democratic Women will meet on Thursday at the VFW on Pike Street in Marietta. Lunch can be ordered at 11:30 a.m., with the meeting beginning at noon. All Democratic women in Washington County are invited to attend.

Story Time will be every other Friday

Author, illustrator will talk about book

The Friends of the Beverly Library will present local author Cathy Mower and illustrator Emily Hendershot as they talk about their book “Young Thomas Ewing and the Coonskin.” The program will be held at noon Feb. 8.

Church offers free lunch to community

First Presbyterian Church of Marietta is offering a free lunch for the community from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The church is on the corner of Wooster and Fourth streets with the entrance off Wooster Street.
