Rightditarod #4 needs volunteers to fight hunger
The Right Path for Washington County promotes healthy youth development through pro-social and community service opportunities. In the summer we are best known for dances and swim parties, but we also have a number of youth who are among the greatest of community volunteers.
We partner with Marietta High School SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) and their advisor, Teresa Morrison, to fill the gap in volunteering wherever we can be of service. Whether it is hosting our annual dodge ball game and food drive for the Gospel Mission (our third annual event, Dec. 17, raised $400+ and netted 9,700 items to stock their shelves), or ringing the bell for the Salvation Army kettle drive, braving the cold and snow, these wonderful youth know the importance of giving back to their community.
Many of our nations volunteers are young people, too, and they all share an interest in making a difference in the lives of others.
Won’t you join us on March 1, as we gear up for The Right Path’s annual “Race against Hunger” Righditarod #4? Grab a shopping cart, pick a theme to decorate your cart in and don a costume to reflect your theme, all in the name of fun for a serious cause. All proceeds from our race help stock the shelves of our 11 food pantries and the Harvest of Hope. We are adding a second component to our race for those that are a little less competitive, so there is something for everyone.
