Free testing for HIV, Hepatitis C Tuesday

There will be free HIV and Hepatitis C testing performed at the Marietta City Health Department, 304 Putnam St., from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday. The testing is free and confidential, but appointments are necessary. The test results take approximately 20 minutes. Call 373-0611, Ext. 186 for an appointment.

Garden class moved to 980 Greene St.

The free Marietta Community Garden Class planned for Sunday has been moved to 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 23 at Jubilee Gardens, 980 Greene St. (formerly Kardex). The class will build cold frames, accessible garden tables and other items. All materials being used are recycled from area barns, Marietta College, Marietta and Devola homes and other sources collected during the past year. Jubilee Gardens can be entered through double doors across Greene Street from the Norwood Tavern or through loading docks nearest Vine Street.

Relay For Life spaghetti fundraiser

The Fort Frye Cadets For A Cause Relay For Life team will hold a spaghetti dinner and movie night fundraiser from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at Fort Frye High. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for students. “Despicable Me 2,” will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium, and the cost is by donation.

Board of elections meeting Tuesday

The Washington County Board of Elections will hold a special meeting at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to certify petitions, review and pay bills, review the ballot quotes for the May 6 election, and discuss and review the following; the quote for the Q & I Software from Triad, the Academy CLE, “OH Election Law 2014” session, delivery of election equipment, the SOS ADA Seminar, and potential closure of the Board office on Feb. 28 so the staff may attend the district meeting.

Square dance

at Lowell church

A square dance will be held from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at Our Lady of Mercy Church Hall in Lowell. The dance, hosted by the youth group, will have music by Steve and Bev Pottmeyer, food, a country store and cake walks. Admission is $3 per person, $5 per couple or $10 per family. All proceeds go to the youth group ministry.
