Forestry clinic will be held at WCCC
The Washington SWCD/OSU Extension forestry clinic will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 10 at the Washington County Career Center. It will cover topics such as marketing timber, reasons to cut trees, timber harvest planning, contract development and where to get help.

Shrove Tuesday free community meal
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will sponsor its Shrove Tuesday/Community Free Meal from 4 to 5:30 p.m. March 4. There is no charge for this meal. This event combines the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancakes and Sausage supper, with the monthly Free Community Meal held by St. Luke’s. All are welcome to attend.
Dining With Diabetes programs planned
Dining With Diabetes programs will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. March 10, 17 and 24 at the Ohio State University Extension Office, 202 Davis Ave., Marietta. Participants will learn strategies to manage their diabetes through menu planning, carbohydrate counting, portion control, label reading and taste testing healthy recipes. The cost is $30 per person and the registration deadline is March 7. Call 376-7431 to register.
River of Live plans wild game dinner
A Wild Game Dinner will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at the River of Life Assembly of God, 200 Franklin St., Marietta. The menu will include elk, deer, rabbit, squirrel, trout and more. The meal is free and open to the community.
Downer will speak at meeting of county Democratic women
Kathy Downer, newly elected Marietta City Councilwoman, will be the featured speaker at the February meeting of the Washington County Democratic Women. The group will meet Thursday at the VFW on Pike Street in Marietta. Lunch can be ordered at 11:30 a.m., with the meeting beginning at noon. Any Democratic women in Washington County are welcome to attend.
