Garden club to meet at Pinehurst church

The Washington County Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. March 14 at Pinehurst Christian Church on Ohio 550 just outside Marietta. Plans for the Washington County Fair Flower Show on Aug. 30 will be discussed. Everyone attending is asked to bring a covered dish for the lunch after the meeting.

Free pork chops meal at Tunnel

A free community meal of pork chops will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. March 13 at Tunnel United Methodist Church on Ohio 550 and Coffman Road. For delivery within a five-mile radius, leave a message at 374-5634.

Salem Twp. VFD plans fish fry Friday

The Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department will hold a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the fire station on Ohio 821 in Lower Salem. The cost is a donation. The menu will also include French fries, green beans, applesauce, homemade bread and butter, hot dogs, desserts and beverages.

MHS Class of ’68 to meet at Levee House

The Marietta High School Class of 1968 will meet for dinner at The Levee House in Marietta at 6 p.m. Monday. Classmates, friends and family are welcome. For reservations call Karen at 525-1121.

Electric co-op

plans two outages

Washington Electric Cooperative has scheduled two brief outages Wednesday affecting approximately 55 members in eastern Washington County.

The first outage will occur at 9 a.m. and last approximately 30 minutes while crews repair damaged wire. This will affect about 25 members along Township Roads 460, 609 and 518 as well as County Road 11 and Whipple Run Road.

The second outage will occur at noon and last approximately one hour, affecting about 30 members along Shay Ridge and Township Roads 35 and 921 while crews replace a damaged crossarm.
